Jitendra Varshney joins Six Senses as new Laamu spa director
01 Aug 2017 Resort operator Six Senses has named Dr Jitendra Varshney as the new spa director of its Laamu resort in the Maldives.Varshney first joined Six Senses Laamu as a wellness practitioner and spa manager in June 2015, and has now been promoted to oversee all spa and wellness operations at the facility.
A postgraduate in ayurvedic medicine and a certified yoga and reiki master, Varshney specialises in integrated wellness consultations, guest treatment plans and Reiki therapies.
Prior to joining Laamu in 2015, Varshney spent the 11 years in India managing spas and wellness centres, including Leo Juventa Medi Spa, Three Graces by Amatraa Spa and Ananda in the Himalayas.
The Six Senses Spa Laamu features four uniquely designed couple’s “treatment nests,” two secluded couple treatment champas plus two champas for ayurveda and one for Thai massage.
Along with the signature Six Senses treatments, locally inspired and ayurvedic massages are also available. Guests can opt for wellness classes such as Mindfulness Meditation, Pranayama and Aerial Yoga or for tailor-made, integrated wellness programmes.
Six Senses Laamu is currently the only resort in the Laamu Atoll. In 2014, however, Saudi Arabia-based property firm Best Choice Real Estate Development revealed plans to build a US$100m (£59.7m, €72.6m) resort and spa on Laamu.
