One&Only Mandarina brings treehouse luxury and private residences to Mexico
13 Jan 2020 One&Only has revealed plans for a multi-billion-dollar Mexican beachfront resort called One&Only Mandarina, scheduled to open on 1 June 2020.Set along the Riviera Nayarit, the resort will be One&Only’s second Mexican property and will be immersed in a rainforest setting overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It will have 104 free-standing villas and treehouses, each with a private plunge pool. The resort will also be home to a One&Only Spa with six treatment rooms in a verdant setting.
One&Only has also announced the resort will feature its first residences, with 54 private homes available for purchase.
With the help of botanists, the resort has been designed to blend with the environment and minimise impact on the existing natural landscape. Low-density accommodation planning has also been deployed, in recognition of the ecological importance of the location.
Philippe Zuber, COO, Kerzner International said: “This brand-defining resort will showcase our commitment to the destination and creating truly memorable moments.”
One&Only Mandarina will also feature a fitness studio with dedicated fitness experts, an outdoor yoga palapa and an outdoor gym, as well as four dining experiences.
Guests will be able to choose from a selection of activities including sailing, fishing, whale-watching and hiking. Additionally, the resort will offer equestrian activities at the Mandarina Polo and Equestrian Club.
One&Only has also announced the appointment of Serge Ditesheim as the resort’s GM. With more than 15 years’ international hospitality experience, Ditesheim previously worked with Banyan Tree Hotels in the Maldives, Morocco, Indonesia, Seychelles and Laos, as well as Amanyara in Turks and Caicos Islands.
He’s been tasked with supporting the opening of the resort and the development of its team.
“I’m thrilled to be leading the One&Only Mandarina team,” commented Ditesheim, “The location is truly exceptional and our guests will experience the ultimate in culinary, adventure and nature.”
