Trellis Spa by The Houstonian Hotel gets a sister-site in Texas

11 Mar 2020
Trellis Spa by The Houstonian Hotel is welcoming a sister-site called Solaya Spa and Salon in Houston, Texas.

Solaya represents an alternative spa offering, as the original Trellis spa is under a six-month refurbishment to complete a new bathing experience, due to open Q3 2020.

Located in Highland Village – just three miles from Trellis – Solaya Spa and Salon covers 6,200sq ft and features nine treatment rooms, twelve styling stations, three nail stations and two make-up stations.

Vegan product house Orveda has been selected to supply treatments.

This brand was launched in 2017 by Sue Nabi and is inspired by Ayurvedic, naturopathic and Taoist principles and utilises bacteria, enzymes and yeast to work with the skin’s microflora to heal the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

Solaya is claimed to be the only spa in America to offer facials featuring this product range, which will be available for purchase, along with other lines such as Phytomer and Natura Bissé.

The spa has retained the same menu offering as at Trellis, including massages, facials and body scrubs but with new additions, such as a CBD massage and customised massages.

“We were looking for a way to keep our staff during this renovation period,” said Renae Cassam, GM of Trellis Spa and Solaya Spa & Salon by The Houstonian, “but what came from that was a beautiful new day retreat that will continue to offer the services that we’ve been known for at The Houstonian Hotel.”

“Most of our team came over from Trellis Spa, and they’re excited to work in this new space and still see some of their favourite clients while Trellis undergoes renovation,” she said.

“What stands out the most to me about our new spa is the design – the colours and textures that our designer has chosen, the combination naturally creates this instant feeling of calm.”

Interiors have been completed by Nina Magon of Contour Interior Design, featuring a palette with blue tones and soft metallic details

Solaya has also announced that celebrity hairstylist Joel Quinones is working at the spa’s salon. Quinones has previously worked with Clairol, Matrix and Logics, as well as celebrity clients including Vogue editor Anna Wintour and actress Olivia Newton-John.
