The WELL Conference reschedules 2020 event due to coronavirus

16 Mar 2020
Organisers of the WELL Conference have decided to delay the industry event until 16-19 August 2020 due to the coronavirus.

The event will still take place at the Fairmont Princess in Scottsdale, Arizona, USA.

Event organisers released a statement announcing that: "After continuous monitoring and careful consideration of the most recent information provided about the coronavirus by the Centers for Disease Control and the WHO, and after consultation and deliberation with many members of our community, we have rescheduled The WELL Conference.

"We believe rescheduling our inaugural conference to the second half of the year is the best option at this time to ensure a successful event for attendees, speakers and sponsors alike."

The event recently added US surgeon general Dr Jerome M Adams and neurosurgeon and CNN chief medical correspondent Dr Sanjay Gupta to its keynote lineup.

Organised by the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), the industry event will feature plenary sessions hosted by each keynote speaker over the course of the four-day event.

The WELL Conference is organised to ‘advance the global culture of health’, by focusing on health and wellbeing and how better buildings, communities, organisations, products and technologies can help society connect and thrive.

Author and director of the Cleveland Clinical Center for Functional Medicine, Dr Mark Hyman, and chef David Bouley will also feature as keynote speakers, running a plenary session – called The Chef and the Doctor – which will involve a discussion about food as medicine.

They join other keynote speakers including: Rick Fedrizzi; chair and CEO of IWBI, Randy W Fiser; CEO of American Society of Interior Designers and Alexandra Villaseñor; co-founder of US Youth Climate Strike.

The event programme also includes educational seminars, daily wellness classes, book signings and networking opportunities.

Educational sessions will provide attendees with the opportunity to sign up for six breakout seminars in different disciplines – Lead WELL, Learn WELL, Design WELL, Live WELL, Work WELL and Connect WELL.

Conference tickets start at US$650 (€584, £507) for a single day pass and US$1,450 (€1,304, £1,132) for an all-access pass for the duration of the conference.
