Ananda unveils personalised online Ayurvedic wellbeing services

23 Jun 2020
Destination spa, Ananda in the Himalayas, in Uttarakhand, India, has launched a series of virtual Ayurvedic wellbeing programmes to help people continue their wellness journey during lockdown.

With a menu of three digital programmes, guests can access a range of experiences which use Ayurvedic practises and holistic health assessments to improve wellbeing.

The most comprehensive offering is the Ananda Wellness Bliss Package, which includes a 60-minute consultation with an Ayurvedic physician who will look at mental, physical, and emotional health to assess people’s unique Dosha makeup – the three Ayurvedic energies that determine body type.

The physician will then prepare a bespoke sequence of guidelines relating to diet and activity according to participants’ body types to bring balance, energy and peace to the mind and body. Two weeks later, the physician will provide a full report and conduct a follow-up consultation to review progress.

With a starting cost of INR 42,000 (£446, €493), the package also includes a 90-minute yoga consultation and introductory session as well as twelve one-hour-long personal movement sessions focusing on either yoga, pranayama or meditation.

Mahesh Natarajan, Ananda in the Himalayas SVP marketing, sales, and business development, said: “Since the pandemic, we’ve seen a renewed interest in holistic wellbeing, and hope for a healthier future for us all.

“We started this year with a focus on intensifying our wellness offering, and did that successfully. Once the pandemic hit, we decided to pivot and offer our services to guests online – we’ve had a great response so far and the offerings ensure we continue to reach past guests and new audiences around the world.”

The destination is also offering two other Ayurvedic healing programmes, virtual, personal or group meditation and yoga sessions and individual Ayurvedic consultations.

Ananda is home to a 24,000sq ft (2,230sq m) destination spa featuring 24 treatment rooms with specialised areas for Ayurvedic, Oriental and European-inspired body and beauty therapies.

Facilities also include a Finnish sauna overlooking the valley and forest; a Turkish steam bath; a chilled plunge pool; a whirlpool; and a built-in hydro-massage system.
