Remote mountain spa resort in Greece unveils seclusion retreat
21 Oct 2020 Luxury Greek destination, Aristi Mountain Resort & Villas, has launched an exclusive seclusion programme designed for guests looking for a remote wellbeing escape.Located in the concealed mountain region of West Zagori, Aristi Resort is home to 24 rooms, suites and villas and set within a national park teeming with wildlife and areas of natural beauty.
Zagori is under consideration for the UNESCO World Heritage list and is also known for its rich history and ties to Greek mythology. During the new retreat, guests are invited to explore this history while reconnecting with nature, to improve wellbeing.
Developed in response to the global pandemic, The Zagori Seclusion programme kicks off with a private guided tour of local historical sites, including the ancient stone arch bridges crossing the Voidomatis River and the abandoned Monastery of Saint Paraskevi situated on the edge of the deepest gorge in the world, Vikos Gorge.
The next day, guests are taken on a water rafting trip down the Voidomatis River – claimed to be the cleanest river in Europe – to take in the dramatic scenery of the National Forest of Vikos.
The journey is then concluded with a swim in the turquoise waters by the Agioi Anargiroi Monastery, dating back to the 18th century.
Throughout the retreat, guests are invited to unwind after a day’s exploring at the resort’s spa, featuring expansive panoramic views out across the mountains and woods.
Visitors can experience the calm waters of the pool or try a personalised massage followed by sauna bathing and a visit to the Jacuzzi to rejuvenate.
The package costs €225 (US$265, £204) per person (excluding accommodation).
The resort is also complementing the package with a selection of locally-inspired culinary experiences at its Salvia Restaurant, previously recognised as the best restaurant in Western-Greece.
