Kohler Waters’ Chicago spa relaunches with new design and exclusive Kohler hydrotherapy service

06 Oct 2021
Bathroom fixtures company Kohler has unveiled its redesigned and expanded Kohler Waters Spa in Burr Ridge, Chicago.

The hydrotherapy spa now encompasses 14,000sq ft (1,300 sq m), 21 treatment rooms, a Mediterranean-style café and the latest evolution of the state-of-the-art Kohler Custom Vichy Shower – the first of its kind in the US.

The Kohler Waters Spa team collaborated with the product engineers at Kohler Co. to enhance and redesign the Kohler Custom Vichy Shower so that it’s suspended from the ceiling, allowing the therapist to move around the massage table more easily.

With an improved horizontal arm of water that houses six shower heads, the new model customises water droplets’ size and shape, while providing a constant shower of warm water in varying sequences; drenching rain; intense massage; and soft silk spray.

The elevated Vichy experience now includes chromotherapy with the introduction of red LED light therapy billed to improve the skin’s health and aids with cell repair.

In addition, temperature and spa service effect settings can be pre-programmed by the therapist using a Kohler Digital Thermostatic Valve Digital Interface (DTV). This is to allow them to maximise their physical touch with the guest and incorporate additional hydrotherapy and light therapy elements throughout the treatment.

The spa is incorporating the new technology into five treatments – the new CBD ritual called Still Waters, Hydro Rock, Lavender Rain, Healing Waters Treatment and Rain Man – each with a starting cost of US$150 (€130, £110) per 50-minute ritual.

“This first-of-its-kind Kohler Custom Vichy Shower will offer our guests an exclusive hydrotherapy service,” said Nikki Miller, director of Kohler Waters Spas.

“Since our opening in 2008, we’ve brought rejuvenating water-led spa treatments and five-star service to the community, and we’re thrilled to welcome guests back to our elevated and expanded sanctuary in Burr Ridge.”

Additional enhancements were also made to the spa's changing and locker room areas, which are now complete with touchless amenities for a safer guest experience.

The overhaul has seen the treatment rooms outfitted with the latest Kohler plumbing products while the changing rooms have been equipped with DTV technology to offer guests a digital showering system to immerse themselves.
