Hervé Blondel joins Glen Ivy Hot Springs following US$2.5m renovation

18 Feb 2022
Southern California wellness destination Glen Ivy Hot Springs has announced the appointment of Hervé Blondel as the property’s new general manager.

Blondel has a background in managing luxury resorts in international destinations, including Europe, the US and South America.

In his most recent role, Blondel led the team at Rancho La Puerta, where he was general manager for three years and managed a team of 450 people over 4,500 acres of land.

He's also previously opened an array of hotels, resorts, spas and dining establishments with world-renowned chefs in a variety of locations.

During his tenure at these establishments, recognitions such as Best Health & Wellness Resort in the World and Condé Nast Gold List, have been awarded to the resorts under his reign.

“It’s an honour and a privilege to join the Glen Ivy team,” Blondel shares, “I look forward to building upon its legacy while strengthening the operations to create memorable experiences for new and returning guests.”

Blondel will begin his tenure with Glen Ivy as the resort has just undertaken a US$2.5m (€2.2m, £1.8m) investment to further enhance the guest experience.

The renovations include resurfacing paved areas and pool decks in addition to upgrades and enhancements in the guest reception area, treatment facilities, the Bath House and Ivy Kitchen.

Glen Ivy is operated by GOCO Hospitality, which plans to expand its wellness arm in the Temescal Valley with a holistic resort and community in harmony with Glen Ivy's natural surroundings.

“We look forward to the continued growth and development of Glen Ivy over the coming years with Hervé as general manager,” says Clive McNish, group operations director of GOCO.

“With 30 years of experience, Hervé’s contributions will continue to ensure we exceed guest expectations and provide a comprehensive and world-class luxury wellness experience.”
