Auberge Resorts unveils Halehouse Spa in California wine country, created in collaboration with TLEE Spas + Wellness

21 Sep 2022
Global spa development firm TLEE Spas + Wellness recently teamed up with Auberge Resorts Collection to realise a new 12,000sq ft spa at wellness destination resort Stanly Ranch, Auberge Resorts Collection.

With design by Overland Partners and CCID, the new resort and spa have been brought to life on a historic working ranch in Napa Valley, set within 712 acres of California vineyards and ranch land.

Design plans for the destination took inspiration from its scenic location in the heart of California’s wine country.

Conceived by TLEE Spas and further developed and operated by Auberge Resorts, the resort’s 12-treatment-room Halehouse Spa has been designed as a results-oriented wellness destination for modern wellness consumers.

TLEE Spas collaborated with Overland Partners and CCID on the concept and planning for the new spa and wellness offering.

“What’s unique about the Halehouse Spa – other than its strikingly beautiful setting – is the Springhouse Circuit at its heart, a concept that blends attendant services and do-it-yourself components to create an innovative bathhouse experience with a Northern California twist,” said Tracy Lee, president and founder of TLEE Spas.

“It’s rooted in nature and is inherently social in its sensibility; encouraging meaningful connections, relaxation and recovery, within the context of pleasure and celebration.”

With Halehouse Spa, TLEE Spas wanted to create a complete ecosystem where guests can pursue their wellness goals and staff can fulfil their mission to heal and inspire positive change.

TLEE Spas has already previously worked alongside Auberge Resorts having helped realise the brand’s Spa Solage in Calistoga.

The spa facilities
Situated at the spa’s core, the Springhouse Circuit is a series of hot and cold contrast experiences and technology boosts designed to be used either pre-treatment or post-workout.

Inspired by Nordic bathhouse culture, the circuit blends thermal bathing with a social dynamic designed to weave the natural beauty of the property into the experience.

The journey includes a hyperbaric oxygen chamber, a tepidarium, salt room, cold plunge bath and the glass-fronted cedar sauna.

Situated atop a hill next to an infinity sculpture by Gordon Huether, the multi-venue wellness centre is also flanked by a spa pool with sweeping views of the property.

To help guests downshift to a more mindful state, the spa employs wellness, medical and sports specialists to tailor individualised programmes that incorporate nutrition, hydration, sleep, movement and targeted treatments to restore the body’s physiological markers and balance mind and spirit.

Spa guests can also book a variety of treatments ranging from physical therapy and restorative Rolfing to lymphatic drainage massage, chiropractic services and customised skincare provided by Biologique Recherche.

Additional spa partners appointed as suppliers include thermal and wet area specialists Bradford Wellness and spa and wellness equipment manufacturer Living Earth Crafts.

Extra facilities include Fieldhouse – the Halehouse Spa’s movement studio and peak performance fitness club – which offers Technogym technology and amenities. Here, guests can choose from a variety of daily movement classes, undergo a fitness assessment and receive functional training and performance coaching.

In addition to the spa, the wellness resort features an abundance of social venues nestled among cottages, guest rooms, villas and vineyard homes; outdoor fire pits, multiple pools and hot spas set in a lavender valley, plus three on-site restaurants.
