Rosewood's Asaya portfolio to expand with lakeside Austrian spa, opening in July

28 Mar 2024
Reservations are now open for Rosewood Hotels and Resorts' second Austrian property in Salzburger Land, called Rosewood Schloss Fuschl.

Launching on 1 July, the luxury lakeside property is situated on the banks of Lake Fuschl and overlooked by the majestic Austrian Alps.

The all-season hotel will be home to Rosewood’s second Asaya wellness outpost in the country. The facility will be complete with eight treatment rooms, a private outdoor lounge area, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a fitness centre.

Rosewood says the wellness facility will be a holistic retreat that transcends conventional notions of relaxation, offering a sanctuary-like retreat enhanced by views of the lake and mountain ranges.

Rosewood has picked up the pace in the global rollout of its Asaya concept in recent years.

Asaya goes global
Asaya launched in 2017 as Rosewood’s second in-house spa offering under the direction of Niamh O'Connell, Rosewood’s former group VP of guest experience and wellness.

It focuses on the intersections between physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and is founded on five pillars – Emotional Balance, Fitness and Nutrition, Physical Therapies, Skin Health and Community.

The group’s original concept, Sense, A Rosewood Spa brand, still forms a major part of the brand’s wellness portfolio (18 open and five in development). However, Asaya now includes a portfolio of seven spas.

The group has a further 16 Asaya spas planned across the world, all the way from Mexico and the Netherlands to South Korea.

Rosewood manages 36 luxury hotels, resorts and residences across Europe, North America, South America, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, with 25 new properties under development.

More about Rosewood Schloss Fuschl
Rosewood's upcoming hotel – marking the operator's second Austrian outpost – will come to fruition following a sensitive restoration of a historic hotel.

First used as a hotel in 1954, the five-star Hotel Schloss Fuschl was initially constructed as a castle to serve as a country escape for Austrian royalty, with its original structure dating back to 1450.

Rosewood is sensitively updating the property's offering with 98 guestrooms, including 42 suites and six chalets, as well as multiple restaurants and lounges.

The operator was appointed to manage the property by Arabella Hospitality – a subsidiary of Schörghuber Corporate Group.

This is the second partnership between Arabella Hospitality and Rosewood after the brands joined forces to realise Rosewood Munich (opened in October 2023).
