Community, plants and love at Four Seasons Jimbaran Healing Village Spa

11 Mar 2020
Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay will reveal a new-look spa themed on healing, on 1 May 2020. The building will appear to be suspended over water.

The Healing Village Spa will have 10 treatment rooms and be 70 per cent bigger, covering 2,000sq m over two storeys.

The spa philosophy will be based on seven ‘healing attributes’ to guide its focus and offerings – water, community, gemstones, light, sound, plants and love.

“The seven attributes are woven into the tapestry of the new spa,” said regional director of spa, Luisa Anderson.

“We feel blessed to have such strong cultural and community connections from our team of local healers, who bring their loving presence to each treatment, to the traditional influences and home-grown ingredients.

Anderson previously worked as director of international spa development at Ila for three years and before that as senior director for Four Seasons in the Asia Pacific region. She was also spa director for both Four Seasons Maldives and Ananda in the Himalayas.

“By uniting cultural elements with the latest in emerging science, we’re able to offer truly transformational experiences in one of the island’s most dynamic wellness hubs,” she said.

The spa has been inspired by contemporary Balinese design and will have a menu that fuses ancient local wisdom with modern awareness in healing. Treatments offered will combine light, sound, thermal and colour therapy.

Highlights will include The Illume Room, a surround sound spa suite sealed from outside light sources to maximise colour therapy healing, where guests will receive inversion therapy and massages. They will also be able to visit the Longevity Garden – a private steamroom sanctuary overlooking tropical gardens.

Guests will be offered scrubs, wraps, massages and facials, as well as traditional, regional, wellness experiences, such as an oceanside Balinese healing ritual – called Blessings of Bali – that’s inspired by local healing culture. The programme includes a flower blessing performed by a Balinese priest, a Balinese gong sound bath, oceanside energy healing session, yoga and a traditional massage.

Four Seasons has selected Skincare brand ISUN, which creates organic products infused with gemstones, to supply treatments.

The new wellness destination will feature the only Rossano Ferretti Hair Spa in South-East Asia. The Italian celebrity stylist also has salons in Milan, Mumbai, New York, London and Dubai.
