Minor Hotels and VLCC unveil medical wellness centre at Avani+ Hua Hin Resort in Thailand

28 Sep 2022
Avani+ Hua Hin Resort in Thailand has introduced a new medical wellness centre in partnership with VLCC, an India-based beauty and wellness operator with a strong presence across Asia.

The new opening is the product of a partnership deal inked between VLCC and Avani’s parent company, Minor Hotels, in 2019.

The therapeutic medical wellness centre, called VLCC Wellness, has opened at the AvaniSpa within Minor’s existing 196-key Avani+ Hua Hin beachfront resort.

Speaking about the facility, William Heinecke, founder and chair of Minor, said: “Wellness is an integral element of any stay with Minor Hotels and the partnership with VLCC represents a strategic move to establish our position as leaders of exceptional wellness experiences.

“In VLCC, we’ve found the perfect partner to build a transformational business offering at Avani+ Hua Hin and look forward to the future potential of this collaboration.”

The new facility
Addressing lifestyle-related medical and chronic health issues, the VLCC facility at AvaniSpa provides a range of aesthetic treatments and IV therapy, in addition to classic spa and beauty treatments for body, skin and hair.

The newly launched facility is home to 11 treatment rooms, including a hammam room, IV therapy suite and HydraFacial room.

The space is kitted out with modern equipment to accommodate medical and aesthetic treatments, such as electrocardiogram machines, a body composition diagnostic device, lasers for skin brightening and de-pigmentation treatments, as well as appliances for skin and hair concerns such as Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma procedures.

The facility is overseen by an in-house medical team that includes a specialist aesthetic and regenerative doctor, a physiotherapist, a nutritionist, personal trainers, a medical nurse and an Ayurvedic practitioner from India.

New programming
Alongside day treatments, guests can explore a host of head-to-toe aesthetic or medical retreats during three- to 21-night residential packages.

The centre has launched with four exclusive programmes which integrate wellness, beauty, weight management and detoxification. Each is underpinned by a blend of modern medical testing and diagnostics, complementary Ayurvedic therapies, tailored diets and fitness.

A highlight is the new Immunity Support programme which allows guests to dip in and out of their wellness programme over two to 14 nights.

The experience is designed to help improve blood circulation and oxygen flow, encourage detoxification, elevate energy levels by regulating the pH balance and improve gut health.

Once checked into the resort, guests start the process with consultations with VLCC’s in-house doctors and nutritionists. Over the course of the programme, they’ll experience a schedule of tests, meditation, yoga, activities– such as Zumba – and natural therapy sessions, along with spa treatments and wellness cuisine. Mental and physical relaxation routines are also incorporated during the course to help rejuvenate and strengthen the whole body.

Pricing for a two-day Immunity Support programme including accommodation starts from THB 43,000 (£1,055, US$1,123) per person.

As part of the new offering, VLCC is also providing a multi-layered programme targeting long-term chronic pain. The approach looks to improve overall wellness and make life easier for those dealing with long-term musculoskeletal conditions and pain.

The treatment plan includes anti-inflammatory therapies, the elimination of heavy metal residues as well as rehabilitation and physiotherapy sessions led by specialists.
